Ootty Flower Show- 16th to 21st May 2025
The iconic Ooty Summer Festival is celebrated every year in the Queen of Hills, Ooty, during the month of May. The various activities conducted during this festival attract a large influx of domestic and international tourists. The Department of Tourism, Tamil Nadu, along with the Department of Horticulture, jointly organizes the Nilgiris District Summer Festival in May. The Summer Festival comprises a variety of cultural programs and events, such as:
Flower Show - The Ooty Flower Show, held in the Botanical Garden, showcases exquisite floral sculptures and a blend of authentic and contemporary floral artistry, highlighting outstanding works of art and culture.
Spice Show - A paradise for foodies and connoisseurs, this show features a variety of locally grown spices from Ooty's plantation farms, including cloves, tea, cardamom, and dried fruits.
Fruit Show - The Ooty Fruit Show has 50 years history. This segment of the Summer Festival creatively showcases the artistic potential of fruits by bringing a diverse array under one roof.
Vegetable Show - Vegetables are artistically arranged in captivating designs at this show. With the expertise of professional artists, selected crops and vegetables are transformed into sculptures of figures and animals, captivating visitors.
Boat Race - As part of the Summer Festival, the Department of Tourism, Tamil Nadu, hosts a one-day boat race, attracting participants from various states annually. At Ooty Lake, tourists compete by pedaling their way to victory. Additionally, several cultural programs, including music and dance performances, are held to entertain visitors.
