E-pass system to enter Ooty and Kodaikanal

E-pass system is mandatory for vehicles to enter Ooty and Kodaikanal, aiming to alleviate congestion in these hill stations during the bustling summer tourist season.The e-pass system was enforced by the Tamil Nadu Government from May 6 to June 30, 2024, in order to mitigate heavy traffic congestion and prevent disruptions to elephant movement.The Government specified that visitors to these hill stations must provide vehicle details, the number of occupants, and the duration of stay. Notably, local residents will be exempt from this requirement, granting them unrestricted access.
