Chariot Festivals in Karnataka 2025 - 2026
Annual chariot festivals, also known as Rathotsavas, are vibrant and deeply spiritual celebrations held across Karnataka, reflecting the region’s rich temple traditions and cultural heritage. These festivals typically involve the ceremonial procession of a temple deity mounted on a beautifully decorated wooden chariot, which is pulled by devotees through the streets surrounding the temple. 03rd January 2026 : Banashankari temple chariot festival near Badami
25th January 2026 : Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple chariot festival in Sri Rangapatna
31st March & 01st April 2026 : Sri Chenna Keshava temple chariot festival in Belur
02nd April 2026 : Sri Virupaksha temple chariot festival in Hampi.
